Dear 70-year-old self,
I am writing this at age twenty. I hope when you read this, you are doing well and receive the best things. I can only hope, for I don't know what the future holds. Anyway, there is something that I want to tell you.
First of all, I want to recall your memories of a terrible experience. When we are now, I mean we are at the age of 20, there is an awful pandemic - Covid 19. We are not only staying at home and learning online, which challenge us but also witnessing millions of people dying of COVID-19. What a tragic picture! However, I want you to also remember the spirit of volunteerism, our kind neighbors, and how we and others supported those needs.
Now, talking about the future, I am quite curious about “you” and “your life”. Are we successful with our life, career, as well as accomplishments and goals? By the way, here’s what I want to see from you. First and foremost, I hope you are still close with your family. Please don’t miss out on important family events from dinners, weekends to holidays, graduations, or weddings. Second, I hope you maintain your health. Eat well, do exercise and keep other good habits so that you can do things you want and stay with the ones you love. Third, I hope you found someone, who you trust, who will always be there for you. He is your best friend, greatest support, biggest comfort, and your strongest motivation. Finally, you know that I am introverted and I don’t have many friends so I hope you can overcome it and have quality best friends. However, if you cannot, it’s okay. At least, I hope you can experience new things or step out of your comfort zone. I don't want you to look back on life and regret not taking that opportunity or seizing that moment.
With respect and gratitude,
Tra My
